Blue Friday

Episode 589

As most of you well know, from time to time I simply love some quieter sessions to shut me down from the world. There definitely were some gruelling days this week, so it's well earned, too. So here we go. And it's not just any choice of serene music, but some of the best I had on the show yet. As always, recent, current and upcoming releases are waiting to be heard by you. Joii me for some excellent time out with music by Jim Ottaway (Threshold Of The Universe), Cousin Silas (Dreamsville), Frore & Shane Morris (Horizon), Oceanographer (Nectar), City of Dawn & Sherry Finzer (Solace), Wellengärtner (Route To Harmony), Time Away and Progeny -1 (Trans-Siberian Express), EISENLAGER (In·s·tal·la·ti·on).

Steam touring

Episode 588

It's the dream of many people from western states: riding the Trans-Siberian Express. It's quite a journey, usually starting in Moscow running all along Southern Russia, sometimes touching China, over to Krasnojarsk far east. Actually, asking local people using this train, they do not understand how one can ride it "for fun". It's not the most comfortable journy and takes days from one end to the other. The view, though, is partially stunning and very unusual for western people. And, of course, it's kind of an adventure travelling this route seemingly forever. Now, on tonight's special edition I present the latest compilation by Legacy of Thought, focusing on this railway line. Here you will get tracks by Cosmic Cadence, AndAWan, Talking to Ghosts, Wane of Summer, Tolubai, Big Beech, BlauDisS and K37. Furthermore, you will get additional tracks from the past by Johan Agebjörn (The Mountain Lake) and Tangerine Dream (Views From A Red Train).

Party crashing

Episode 587

Another week gone, and I barely remember it. Looking at my calendar, it was quite a busy week. But it does not feel like it. Strange. However, when my calendar says so, there can only be one choice in music... err... which is either ambient or dance-ish. Ok, well, last week it was all about relaxation, this week we will treat the body with some beats. Which is very fitting, as I just compiled a track list that fits my requirements. How accidental. Oh, and then there is a live festival coming up in Fulda, Germany. If you are interested and can make it, simply go for a trip. It's several days the week from September 10th. Take your pick. I have a teaser track amongst the fine music tonight, which features music by Gabriel Le Mar (Into Sonic States), Crennwiick (The World's Recreation), CAIN & Tomchilla (Santosha), Caballero (Soul Sparkle), Dusk Horizon (El Golfo), Flavio Deff aka Dj Home (Onde Elettroniche), DJ_Iterate (FOURTH WORLD IS - Jon Hassell Tribute), Oriom / 70db (Venus Void).

Leightweight sounds

Episode 586

So this was a rather busy week. How was yours? What a nice coincidence that I planned for a quieter edition of syndae tonight. Yes, time to relax a bit with beautiful melodic tracks, just what I need after an exciting week. And there are some really cool tunes in for the 60 minutes. Brand new stuff not even released yet as well as excellent music from earlier this century. Last week we had the golden times, which also are refering to musical styles from the past. Maybe it's the theme for this show. Or maybe not. We'll hear next week. But for now, let's relish outstanding tracks by Mark Isham & Michael Whalen (myndstream Collection Volume 1), Will Ackerman & Jeff Oster & Tom Eaton (Brothers), Ciro Hurtado (Luna), ELEON (Crossover), Клет (АЛКОНАВТ (Alconaut)), Ivan Black (The Green Ray), Bekki Williams (Shadow of the Wind), Andreas Baaden (Slow Down), Bernd Kistenmacher (Antimatter).

Heirs to golden times

Episode 585

There is some tunnel at the light of the end.. erm... or something like it. So I have seen some live music festivals being planned for the next months for the music we love. Not that it always holds, as one already has been cancelled. But some smaller events are coming up, like tiny concert series at the Güterhallen in Solingen, where Stefan Erbe will play life this Sunday (cancelled due to bad weather) and Martin Stürtzer the week after. And then there is the second installment of the empulsiv online festival coming up on 3rd of September. Ok, not real-live but live on video, where you will experience fresh music by Däcker, Dayflight, Pete Farn, Rene van der Wouden, Skoulaman, Suriya, and Stefan Erbe. Three of those are on tonight's edition. But there is more great stuff celebrating the golden age of electronic music with tracks by Peter Mergener (Astronaut), Chronotope Project (Gnosis), Jim Ottaway (Threshold Of The Universe), Lisa Bella Donna (Moogmentum), Michael Brückner (Recycled Life), Stefan Erbe (Selectronisch Vol. 1), Däcker (Pareidolia), René van der Wouden (Electronic Improvisations on Shimmer Winter Days).
