06 January 2023

What will it bring, this new year 2023? Is it really new or just an echo of the past one? 2022 was a desaster for EM fans and it ended no good with the passing of Steve Smith and Edward Artemyev. May the rest in peace. So, hopes are up for another 365 day rotation. And I wish you all only the best of the best. It does start really good with a number of live concerts due in January and March. And the German Schallwelle Awards are due as well. Old an new music alike will stay alive on syndae, as for tonight we have music by Broekhuis, Keller & Schönwälder (Live @ Dorfkirche Repelen 2), Alba Ecstasy (The Stargazer), Michael Brückner (Test of Time), Mike Hans Steffl (Successful Failure), Faber (Sequentium), Nautilus (A Floating City), Steve Smith and the Tylas Cyndrone (Pools of Diversity).

I hope for everybody out there to find some time to peace out and having people around who are kind, helpful, loving. Anybody deserves to be safe and to live in peace. Tonight's edition presents new and recent music that I think does give a bit of peace of mind and soul to you listeners. I hope all your wishes come true. And as this is the last show for 2022, I also wish you a Happy New Year which hopefully becomes less catastrophic. This year seems to be a sad one for electronic music lovers. As many of you will already have heard, Manuel Goettsching passed away at the beginning of this month. I've seen him live on stage several times, and especially remember when he got the Schallwelle Award in 2009. As Ashra, they played a concert that evening as well, and it was mesmerizing. Tonight's edition is kind of a tribute to him and his musical descendents. While not related, I picked some current releases that relate to the spirit of his legacy, at least from my point of view. Of course, closing up with a track of his. Please, find some pleasure in the music given to us by Time Away (Age of Sand), Cousin Silas & Glove Of Bones (A Brief History Of... A Second Volume), Rena + KiloWatts (Force Multiplier), Richard Anthony Bean ft. Paul Landry (Natural Progression), Tom Eaton (Shelter), Steve Roach & Byron Metcalf (The Serpent’s Lair), Ash Ra Tempel (Friendship).

What is fate? Is it escapable? Well, I don't believe in a global concept of fate that defines one's life like a storyboard for a movie. But sometimes it seems that fate gets hold of you and changes the way you planned your own future. It's not a religious thing, but events providing means to change your perspective on things and what should be in store next for you. One usually assigns negative things to fate and ignores there are positive ones as well. But whatever life holds for you, there will always be a way to handle it and get on. And you should, as there is no second chance or choice. When it's over, it's over. So go on, because life is the only real thing you own. And you know what? Fate has great music for you tonight by moonbooter (Reminiscence), Faber (Sequentium), Andreas Baaden (Night Walk), Parallel Worlds (Plector), CIALYN (A Faint Past Beside Us), Kenneth Hooper (As the Crow Flies), Wilfried Hanrath (Midnightradio Compilation 113), D-Fried (Human is Human's master), Grosso Gadgetto (L'Orchestre secret), Coma Conscience (Ambient Sessions Compilation Vol. 2).

What happens in billions of years? Did you ever think about it? Probably not. But some scientists did and set up a timeline for a probable future. It's about planets and suns shattering and vanish, about the Galaxy ripping apart, about star systems colliding, merging, disappearing. And about the end of everything, even time. No human will ever experience any of it. And, well, if any being does, they definitely won't remember this show or any of the scientists. But to get an aural impression on the events, join me tonight for the release of Future of the Universe with tracks by Aestheia, Orbital Hum, Xavion, Tuuligan, Cosmic Cadence, Wane of Summer, Roberto Sass, Ambient Indigo, Progeny -1, Ancient Astronaut and Time Away (Future of the Universe).

Black Week, Cyber Week, Black Friday. Are you getting swamped by all the "cheapest ever" offers as well? Luckily, this year there is nothing on sale that I need. Not that I would need anything specific. What about you? Are you looking out for some special deal? Let me know in the comments. So am I lucky to not want anything? I read several articles on "deals", which are nothing but labeling existing reductions as "Black Friday" offerings. I did not check if that's true. Would fit in these times though. And then there is a completely free offer to please your ears: another fine edition of syndae. Definitely not a black show with outstanding tracks by Chris Gate, @nico.walser.5 (Sleep tides), Michael Brückner & Cilia di Ponte (Twenty-Five Light Years), Klangwelt (Here and Why), Ivan Black (A Tear Soiled Your Cheek), Divine Matrix (Sequencer Drift), Fratoroler (Landscapes), mypan (Mixta caseo patina), Sonic Bodhi (Journey of Awakening).

What's up guys? I hope you are all feeling good, and if not, tonight's edition might help with that. As always, this is an hour well wasted relishing chilling and relaxing sounds from many talented artists and countries. And this is what I like alot when presenting ambient and electronic music: it brings together all of you listeners to enjoy some time in sound and scapes. At least virtually that is. And it also gives you the chance to discover new and older music to enrich your life. So here I have another pack of joy spending and fun bringing tracks for you composed by moonbooter (Reminiscence), Kraftfuttermischwerk (Es macht auch wirklich keiner mit!), State Azure (Light Span), Eagle (Synth Music) ft. Silencia (Daft Muzak for radio stations (vol.1)), Patrick Kelly (Above the Clouds), Rupert Lally (Cruise Controlled), York (Destinations), David Wright (Returning Tides, Vol 2), WebCam (Journey to an interior).

Are you on twitter? Do you follow syndae on there? Or eventually me? This twitter show is on every news channel online and it seems to be complete chaos currently. Someone already said, this is done on purpose to make twitter less significant as a social medium. Everyone running off to the Fediverse now? Well, I am not sure. I set up my own fediverse server though, just in case. Always nice to have a private address and home. And all this blue button discussion made me shake my head so hard, I think I lost quite some hair. Time to calm down a bit and return to something really good and enjoyable. Join me with tracks by Dream Cycle (Passive Imagination), State Azure (Light Span), Desensitized (Chaos In Premonition), Onepointtwo (Music for Spaces), Alex Anthony Faide (Watch's End), Blue Is Nine (Far And Wide), Byron Metcalf, Steve Roach, Rob Thomas (Monuments of Ecstasy), Forrest Fang (The Lost Seasons of Amorphia), Bridge to Imla & Volker Lankow (Ambient Chapel. Live at Schlosskirche Rumpenheim 2018).

Do you tweet? I just wonder what will happen to the blue bird social media channel now that the chief is in power. And I am reading about many people moving over to Mastodon (or Fediverse). Is that really an alternative? Well, I will surely try it out, in the end, I am a computer guy and like such stuff. Remembering back (yeah, I am old) I started with IRC to exchange with others. Back, when there was no world wide web (believe me, there was such a time, and there were no mobile phones either...). And it was much more difficult to create electronic music, too. Which nowadays has become so easy bringing out all the talent of people to create music on their own. Like the artists you will get to hear tonight, who are Wane of Summer and Time Away (Ring Gate), DreamerProject (Fading Light), Steve Orchard (Macabre), Anna B May (Rituals), Encounters (A Path Beyond), Eagle (Synth. Music) (Daft Muzak for radio stations Vol. 1), Reflex Condition (Autumn Volume 2), Stan Dart (MurInsel, Vol. 5), Michael Brückner & Cilia di Ponte (Twenty-Five Light Years), Menzman & Friends (Insights).
