Luxury in sound

Episode 765

On this weeks list of todos were quite some interesting things. Had a lot of work at home to do and in my job as well. As always, the time you plan for finishing a job most often does not suffice. Or is this just me? Well, on some point in progress I encountered an issue that let me to rethink the whole approach. So it was not only the weather outside getting warmer, which is nearing the 30 C mark on some days. But the inner heat also rose, as there are deadlines to meet. Well, wanna go for a cool ride? I do, as I need some cooling down. And what better to do with some really great music. On the menu tonight, you will find fantastic sounds by DEMOKRATIE (2 + 1), GROBEK (Grobek 2: Grevelingen), Divine Matrix (Rise of the Sand Gods), Phaeleh (Dark Sky), Stefan Erbe (Metamorphosys), niteffect (copan), The Laconic (Conic Sections), Weldroid (Painted City), Parallel Worlds (Modular Stories), Tonewulf (The Heavy), Reichenhall (kollektion eins).

Tradition always shines

Episode 764

So, last weekend many of you celebrated the tradition of the resurrected egg-giving easter bunny... erm... I am sure to be confused a bit. But it surely was traditional. And we are on for tonight to enjoy something traditional electronic music, that I am sure about. It was back in the 80s, when I discovered this specific style of instrumental electronic music for myself and fell in love with it. Of course, lots has changed since back then, but there are still some "descendants" and the like who evolved from that aera and built upon it. Not only that, but there also are some of the early pioneers of this style alive and kicking and still creating great music. Come in to a new edition of this podcast and enjoy the great sounds of Peter Mergener (Sky Space Bar III), GROBEK (Grevelingen), Syndromeda (Serendipity), A Collection of Notes (Last Flowers of Autumn), Conny Olivetti (Rearranging the legs of lady Jane), Andreas Davids (Weltraum), Paul Ellis (Warmth From Other Suns), Andy Pickford (Expurgations Vol. 2).

Striking some nerves

Episode 761

While there are storms happening in the economic world, we gear down a lot and go for some serenity in this edition. Wouldn't it be nice to have humans be united and care for their kind and each other instead of looking for one's own advantage? Well, maybe not for some people. I don't know. Maybe life would be boring that way. I like boring, though. Na, not really. I prefer challenging sounds and musical journeys, for example. That's why there are no drones on syndae. To me, music has to have some kind of structure to it. Something that tickles my ears and my brain. Join me, won't you? For some cool ambient and related music by Erik Wøllo (Where the River Widens), Sine (Impuls), Level Pi (Elektronische Klänge), Cousin Silas & aka:man (Cousin Silas & aka:man), Orchestra Indigo (Hearing Visions), Loneward (Gossamer Wings of Illusion), Blue Is Nine (So Far from Home), Dino Pacifici (Beyond The Solar Influence), sevensy (one2one), Wellengärtner (Movements).

On the wild ride of life

Episode 760

Up next week is April fools' day. Are you in for making fun of people? By definition, it is the day of the year where practical jokes take over and one gets targeted with pranks, which sometimes seem real or get very close to reality. For some country, 2025 may have started as a fool's year, and may stay so for some while (no orange bun intended). But I am not going into politics here. This is a place of joy and fun and should stay so for everyone. So, back to the start. Do you do pranks? Or know of good ones? If so, let me know in the comments. I am always up for a little joke, even I might not look like it. On the other hand, I really like cool and great and modern electronic music. And this is what you will get in tonight's editon with tracks by Urs Fuchs (Wolkenfee), Stefan Erbe (Metamorphosys), AeTopus (iota), Simon Heartfield (The State Of Social Movement), AMPTEK (Pianeta Ephedrina Volume Due), Grosso Gadgetto & Brainquake (Distorted Planet), Feralia Planitia (Hyperphantasmic), niteffect (aztec), Steve Joy (Hatchback), Tonewulf (The Heavy), B. Ashra & Ricky Deadking (Live at U-Site Fusion 99).

With the speed of sound

Episode 759

It's space time! Well, at least for most of tonight's edition, where we will visit some of the famous space ships produced on earth. Well, in film and literature that is. Are you a science fiction or fantasy fan? It's fascinating that people are so intrigued by the stars and the universe and maybe alien life forms, while we still do not know about many places on earth. And while we definitely are no species, someone would like to meet, are we? Now, before getting to dark or sinister, let's better focus on what we love, which is great ambient and electronic music. Some of those aural wonders you will get with music by Claude9 (Chords of Love). Stan Dart (Murinsel 7 - Travel Stories). Ambient Indigo, Time Away, Wane of Summer. Progeny-1, Ambient Light, Hellweed, Talking to Ghosts, Helsinki Project (Interstellar Engines), Ivan Black (Some Refugees From Suburbia).

Glassy trophies

Episode 758

Barely a week as gone since the Schallwelle awards were given to the winners in their respective categories. Tonight's edition focuses on the one's awarded. So you will get music by the best discovery for 2024, who is Betageist, the best artist national and international, who are Martin Stürtzer and Kebu, respectively, and the best albums national and international, which are 101, Milky Way by Klaus Schulze and Metamorphic Phases by Colin and Joe Rayment. And finally also the best ambient album voted for, which is Alpha I by State Azure. At the ceremonies, you could meet most of the awarded musicians as well as lots of well known guests, like Chris Bryant (S1gns of L1fe), Thorsten Q Quaeschning (Tangerine Dream), Harald Großkopf, Elektronische Maschine, Olaf Zimmermann (Lifetime award recipient), and many more.
