Getting happy

Episode 191

After the show is before the show, at least there are more nice shows coming up in October. And, as you know, I love teasing you. But before that, I would like to introduce you to a quartett, one fourth I got to know at the Electronic Circus last weekend. They are Erren, Fleißig, Schöttler and Steffen who took a week off in Ouddorp (NL) to simple record some music. And it got really well. Fine and modern Berlin School on Ouddorp Takes.

For the next event, well, there are a handful of tickets left. So, if you're quick, you get to hear very nice electronic music at the Radio Happy Event on October 6th. For example, by Rainbow Serpent and BatteryDead, where I have tracks from 8th Nerv and Sands of Deception, respectively.

The next major EM event, of course, is E-Live on October 27th in Oirschot. Two of their live acts on tonight's show: Gert Emmens and Ruud Heij, with a track from their album Blind Watchers of a Vanishing Night, and Bernd Kistenmacher, with one song from his Head-Visions. And, btw., Bernd will also be live on stage at November 24th, together with Din-A-Testbild.

Make sure you visit at least on of the coming events, as there is more to electronic music than what you get from your headphones. Enjoy your weekend!

(P.S.: Had to fix the upload, therefore you might have got this announcement before. You've my apologies.)

Darker matters

Episode 190

One day early, as I'll be on the road tomorrow evening, we'll be going into darker material tonight, drifting somewhere in between ambient and industrial electronica. So it is time to let your mind take a grip on softer and harsher waves, floating or backed by creaking sounds and drifting beats.

We start out smoothly with Light and Shadow by Janne Hanhisuanto. Calmly followed by Incentive's Rera pushing us a bit towards the end, which leads right into some more technical world by Rasul Mono from his Silhouettes. Afterwards, The Nikki Grace Experience puts some experimental thrill to it with a()anda partur 2. We'll be cought by the Jarguna and his dark and thriving movements from Waiting for a Call from the Unknown. Just to be challenged by some driving technology from Hanetration's Torn Heat. And it is Ross Baker with his Photografic Reflection soothing us with dark and peaceful soundwaves, seamlessly floating into the Genuit Machina by Ivan Black, which in the end turns out to push us forward. Only, to even out with Bengalfuel's Neely.

Have a great time and take care.

Travelling on free waves

Episode 189

Actually, a date much more important than the world's destruction as the Maya are alleged to have said: the Electronic Circus is close. One week to go, on September 22nd! Come and meet in Gütersloh, where you will experience fantastic live concerts, like from the band first on tonight's show: Sankt Otten with Sequencer Liebe.

Many artists have announced their visit to the Circus, like Robert Schroeder, Michael Mertens (Propaganda), and Bodo Staiger (Rheingold). Further, it is very likely that Winfrid Trenkler will be there and also Rainer Sauer, both anchormen of famous radio shows on electronic music. Another well reknown guest will be Bernd Kistenmacher, who also has some live appearances later on in October, being the main act at E-Live. We have an excerpt from his re-released Head Visions on tonight's show.

Talking about E-Live, which is over a month ahead on October 27st, Fanger & Schönwälder will have a special appearance at the Grand Café. And, of course, a nice track on this edition from Stromschlag.

I do not know about any live events of the following artist, but he just put out a marvellous album. It's UK's very own Data Rebel who set Dreams for an Abstract Mind to music. Another fresh addition to syndae is Bertrand Loreau from France, where we have two tracks of his current album Journey through the past. Fine french electronic music not being jarreish.

More fresh sounds come from Fascinating Earthbound Objects, a USA based artist, and his latest compositional work And so the game has gone. And finally, we have Andreas Baaden with his just released album Polarlicht.

Hope, you will enjoy tonight's tracks as much as I did. Take care.

Chill-out express

Episode 188

Last week, I had lots of coming event teasers. Now, tonight it's time to get some recent releases on air. And we are into dub, groove, club like music, so best to take place for a rather relaxing and chilling session, close to one hour of fine electronica tracks.

For once, I have a CC double sampler from section27 netlabel. It's named Section v3.0, and four of the many tracks are on this edition presenting to you Deltason & Konuvvi, Illocanblo, Swin Deorin, and YoMyEx. Also recently released, Regnlxprss by Passive Defence. Another CC album from the great Kreislauf netlabel. More free stuff comes from the Rec72 label, namely Always now never after by Orbique, a really cool album there.

Two more artists on the playlist, both with commercial releases. First, I have Munich located The Cosmic Garden's current album Sun Secrets. And then there is Giuliano Rodrigues, where I have two tracks, one each of the albums Apogue and Red Sky, respectively.

On the road

Episode 187

Events, events, events. The next month is stuffed with events in electronic music, three of which I have some appetizers for on tonight's episode. Last week we had the Michael Shipway special in sight of his appearance with Steve Smith at the Electronic Circus. Another collaboration will be playing in Gütersloh for the first time: Ian Boddy and Erik Wøllo. Unfortunately, I have no material of their set (yet), but just right these days, Erik released a brand new solo album which you will get a double right at the beginning of tonight's show. You shouldn't miss the Circus this year, plenty of great acts and there are still quite a bunch of tickets left. So do not hesitate and plan your trip to Gütersloh on September 22nd.

Earlier in September, on Friday 14th, you can experience TMA with Martinson and others at the Planetarium of Recklinghausen. To the time of this edition of syndae, I think, some tickets are still available. And you can actually do a double feature, as there is another very interesting show at the Planetarium of Bochum on Saturday 15th with moonbooter and Remy. One track of each, of course, on tonight's show, a very new one by moonbooter and an excerpt by Remy from recordings done for that event.

Also starting in September, Bernhard Wöstheinrich does a tour in the USA again. From September 22nd to 30th you can meet or listen to him live on stage. And he will be on tour together with guitarist Tim Motzer.

In between all these event-releated music, you get to hear from a fresh album by LooneyJetman, who is new to syndae. The music on this release simply made me happy, so I have a triple for you of that album.

Enjoy the show, have a great time, take care, and good night.
