Sometimes, life is stuffed with various events compressed into the shortness of a week. And at the end, I am grateful for each minute I have for taking myself back and relax. Well, thirty minutes do quite well in that regard, and that is what you get tonight. A wonderful mix of new and older tracks, looking forward, looking back. Where was I? Oh, yes, in midth of the interview with Bernd Scholl. As promised, tonight you will get the second part of questions answered by the head of MellowJet Records. Which reminds me of the question, I forgot to ask: What "MellowJet" means. So, I can only guess it could be a "gentle, but forceful breeze", whatever that could be. Hm, at least, most of their music is very "mellowdic" (Sorry for that one). Ok, so what will you get in part 2? More about what it needs to have your music released with the label, and what to expect from Bernd in that matter. And, of course, more of the fantastic artists and music being released on MellowJet, this time with tracks by Erez Yaary (EMC 9), Visible Breath (Tropospheric), future_former (Electronic Music for Life), BatteryDead (EMC 9), and moonbooter (Schwarzmond) himself.

There aren't that many labels in electronic music having constant high quality output over the years. One of them is the German label MellowJet Records, run by a fantastic musician himself, Bernd Scholl. This year they are celebrating their 10th anniversary, and to me it feels like it was yesterday when I discovered the very young and fresh distributor from the Eifel. MellowJet provided many joyful hours to me, and surely to many of you, too. And it is a great occasion to have some questions ready and asked to the head of the label. Exactly. Tonight I have for you the first of a two part special on MellowJet Records featuring an interview with Bernd Scholl. And, of oourse, lots of music of the label, which tonight is by moonbooter (Under Control), Harald Grosskopf (Synthesist 2010), and Uwe Reckzeh, Wellenfeld as well as Magic Dimension (Electronic Music Compilation 9).

Have you ever been to New York? To me, it's an interesting town to visit and look around for a while, but definitely too crowded and too busy for my likings. Last time I've been there right after the floodings, so even Liberty was closed and some parts of the subway did not run properly. And there are people everywhere. And cars. And taxis. And those sightseeing buses with open roof tops, which are really, really chilly at night, I tell you. Ok, it was a bit stupid to visit in Winter, and because of heavy snow fall our flight home was cancelled, too. Not so good, especially when running out of underwear. Well, at least it got quieter when everything was covered in white. Less traffic. Less people on the road. And some additional time off. Ok, enough of me burbling. Well, I try to have a different style of music on syndae each week with tracks that are similar in mood, but still quite different in sound and kind. Simply because I like it that way. What type of music listener are you? Mix it up how it comes along? Trying to fit it to your mood or its opposite? Listening to common radio shows, I usually get bored or annoyed of their everlasting rotation of the same over and over again. So, yes, I like diversity and similarity equally, but not stupid repeatology. There's the saying of Don't repeat yourself, which I quite follow, so no track finds it way twice to the show. Most times. And tonight you will get mainly new stuff, too. Some albums we already had, most we did not. And each of them unique and very harmonic. So there I stood at the traffic light, which of course just had to jump to red when I closed up. One of those lucky days again. And it's not only the crossing traffic that passed by, which already takes long enough, but of course there is the tram approaching the crossing. Sorry, no, not only one, but one from each direction. And guess who is still waiting for green lights? What do you do, staring at the stop light? Well, I took a little trip in my mind, let the business memory fade and looked forward for the weekend. Oh my, it would have been such a relaxing and joyful moment, if those pesky cars behind me didn't start honking. Yeah, all right, green lights. Holy banana. I am not sure what the heck came over me this week, which actually was quite slow. But maybe that's the reason, as when things get rather boring in life one needs some speed to enjoy the weekend. Well, no, not going on drugs, but turning on the volume to let the beat in. And beats you get with tracks by Atezu (Bootlegs), Groot (Grootesque), Xamanist (7), Negans (Danse Macabre), S0ca & Dreaddean (Microscopic), Open Source (Highly Motivated to Rock You).

Think out of the box, that's one often repeated Creed. So tonight comes some music out of the box, as the artists on this edition don't let boundaries of genres stop them. And rightly so. I am often looking for ideas and sounds which broaden my imagination. I bet, I am still to conservative about it, but I hope you find some inspiration in these tracks as well.
